ABOUT ME

 Again, thanks for joining me.

I am a recently widowed from my incredible husband, Dan . We were married 46 years, so as you can imagine this has been extremely hard.  Harder than i could have ever imagined!  I miss him more than I can say.  As Dan and I talked after we learned of his prognosis, his concern was that I find something that occupy my mind and heart.   I needed a distraction from my grief.

We have 2 amazing children, Devon and Andi who found wonderful spouses, Tiff and Lee. Devon and Tiff live in Denver, Colorado with their awesome children Hailie, 15 and Perrin, 11.  Andi and Lee live in Portland,  Oregon with their fantastic children Kalina, 7 and Mateo, 5.  My family is the most important thing in my life and brings me such joy!  Dan and I had moved from Denver in late 2014 to Portland. Hailie and Perrin had gotten very busy with sports and teenage stuff and we found they didn't have as much time for us as they use to have. Our dream was to spend time with our Oregon grandkids and build the kind of relationship with them that we had shared with Hailie and Perrin since they were born.  It was a great move! Turns out we love Oregon and both discovered a love of the ocean.  Since Dan is gone, when I visit Denver, I stay for weeks at a time.  That gives me lots of time to visit not only with Devon, Tiff, Hailie and Perrin, but extended family and friends.  I go back to Denver every few months to get my "fix"!  (I travel with one suitcase filled with stamps, ink and paper)!

As wonderful as it is to spend time with our grandkids, they are all busy with school, sports, activities and well, life!  So, I needed things to fill my day with!  Stamping was and still is my "go to" activity! I love it!  In Denver, my friend, Cindy, and I use to teach stamping classes - but I wasn't sure that I wanted to do that here in Portland.  So, I started a shop on Etsy to sell my cards!  After all, I was making more cards than I could mail out!  It's going pretty well.  I am constantly scouring You Tube, Pinterest and blogs and for inspiration and techniques.  I love learning new things! I love the feeling I get when I have this beautiful image on a clean sheet of paper, trying out new products and techniques and having this finished product that is a little piece of art!  Me an artist?!?  Please say it's so!  That would just make me happy!  It also turns out I still have that urge to share what I have learned - hence a blog!

So join me on my journey of "Stamping My Way To Sanity - One Card At A Time"

Thanks for learning a little bit about me!
